As a Livestock Caretaker, you will play a vital role in creating memorable guest experiences by caring for the animals at our Petting Farm. This hands-on position involves daily animal care, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and interacting with guests to provide an educational and enjoyable experience.

What You'll Do as a Livestock Caretaker:

• Complete daily opening and closing procedures for the Petting Farm.
• Provide daily care for all animals, including feeding and watering twice daily.
• Clean and maintain animal pens and surrounding areas.
• Monitor animals and identify signs of illness or injury, reporting concerns to the Livestock Manager.
• Perform pony rides and safely interact with resort guests.
• Educate guests about the animals, Petting Farm procedures, and proper animal interaction.
• Enforce established guest safety rules and procedures.
• Handle, brush, lead, and interact with livestock in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming guest and work areas.
• Assist with inventory of animal feed, supplies, and livestock.
• Load and unload 50-pound bags of feed and hay bales.
• Assist with special events and other livestock-related activities.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.

What You Will Bring as a Livestock Caretaker:

• Knowledge of livestock and proper animal care practices preferred.
• Strong interest in working with animals and providing memorable guest experiences.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, dependable, and willing to work in a hands-on outdoor environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license for operating company golf carts.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require.
